In preparation for the 2025 Jubilee Year of ‘Pilgrims of Hope’, Pope Francis has declared 2024 as a Year of Prayer to ‘renew our desire to be in the presence of the Lord, to listen to him and to adore him’. Through prayer we are invited to offer a great ‘symphony’ in thanking God for his love and for the wonder of his creation.

Prayer lies at the heart of daily life at Bishop Thomas Grant School, each lesson begins with a prayer and students are encouraged to offer their own intentions to enhance their experience of ‘raising their hearts and minds to God’ (CCC). There is a particular focus in this Year of Prayer on the Our Father, the ‘most perfect of prayers’ (CCC). We intend to share the prayer in a range of different languages in recognition of the diversity of our family of faith. As part of our extensive extra-curricular programme, students have been introduced to British Sign Language by Our Vice-Chair of Governors, Mrs Cook.
Well done to our Year 8 and 9 students who have recited the prayer so wonderfully!
