Pupils from St Francis RC Primary School have been making waves with their creativity and commitment to caring for the environment. Before Christmas, our Mini Vinnies took part in a unique eco-project, transforming waste collected from the Thames River bank into beautiful Christmas decorations.

This initiative was led by Flora from @washedupcards, who guided the children in repurposing discarded materials into festive ornaments. The project aimed to highlight the importance of caring for God’s creation, a core principle of Catholic Social Teaching, while encouraging young people to take action against pollution.
The pupils’ dedication and hard work did not go unnoticed—ITV News filmed the project, capturing the excitement and creativity of our young environmentalists. Now, we are delighted to share that the official news clip is available for everyone to watch!

Through this initiative, the Mini Vinnies have shown that small actions can lead to meaningful change, proving that even waste found along the riverbank can be given a second life. Their efforts serve as an inspiring reminder of our responsibility to care for our common home.
