An introduction to Catholic Academy Trusts. How Catholic Academy Trusts within the Diocese are set up and managed. Open to Headteachers and Governors who have not yet academised.
This session will cover:
- What is a MAT?
- Who are the Members of a Catholic MAT?
- Who are the board members of the Trust?
- How is governance of a MAT different to that of a VA school or Single Academy Trust?
- Who are the employers in a MAT?
- Who owns the land and buildings in a MAT?
- What is a Scheme of Delegation? Who decides on the scheme of Delegation? How often is then Scheme of Delegation reviewed?
- How does each school protect its particular character/ Charism?
- CATs and the Diocese working together
