On Friday 16th September, our Year 10 student leadership team gathered together to be commissioned in their roles as Prefects, Senior Prefects and Head Boy and Girl. During our liturgy, we focused on the Great Commission and St. Teresa of Avila’s prayer. Students reflected on how Jesus’ example taught us what it truly meant to be a leader; serving the least in society first.
Our outgoing head boy and girl symbolically passed on their roles by giving each prefect their lanyard and a prayer card. Students finished the liturgy by making a pledge expressing their responsibilities and aspirations in their role. They committed to serve the needs of all in the Bonus Pastor community and lead by example both in their behaviour and academic achievements.
It was wonderful to finish the day with a reward lunch their headteacher, Mr Ronan, to recognise their achievement in gaining their roles.
