In June, the Year 9 and 10 students had a fantastic week on the RE and Geography trip during the half term to Rome and the Bay of Naples. They explored the ancient sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum, discovered the incredible geographical landscape by foot and boat, ventured up Mt Vesuvius, visited the island of Capri and even learned to make a traditional Neapolitan pizza! They then ventured to Rome for some faith formation by visiting some of Rome’s most impressive sites: the Catacombs, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Pantheon. All before ending the trip on the most incredible visit to the Vatican to explore the museums and most importantly listen to the amazing Papal Audience.
In both the Catacombs and the Sistine Chapel, students were able to see for themselves the artwork and symbols they enthusiastically study. It was a joy to see them taking videos and pictures to make the memory last forever. It really brought the curriculum to life!
It was a wonderful experience, both the staff and students will never forget. We would like to thank the staff for taking the students on such a life changing trip and the students for being such fantastic credits to our school abroad.
