Wednesday 18th June 2025, 4pm. (Please be seated by 3.45pm)
St George’s Cathedral, Lambeth Road, SE1 6HR.
Archbishop John will be leading a Mass to celebrate Catholic Education and those who serve as leaders on 18th June 2025 at 4pm.
All headteachers are encouraged to attend and pupils are also welcome. Heads are invited to bring a future leader with them, be it a member of the teaching, support or administrative staff who you wish to encourage into leadership in their area of school responsibility. Archbishop John will use the occasion to recognise the many years of commitment given by those headteachers and long serving governors retiring from school with a diocesan award.
This year, we wish to mark the sudden passing of Sarah Griffin, headteacher of St John Fisher School Catholic Primary School Erith. Sarah was well known by many of you and generously gave her expertise and understanding to make a difference to many young people during her career. The Mass will be celebrated in remembrance of Sarah involving her school community leading the choir, prayers and reading. Sarah’s daughter, Amy, grandson and immediate family have been invited to join her colleagues.
Refreshments will be served in Amigo hall after the Mass. All are welcome to attend
