Christ the King Sixth Forms (CTK) and East Kent Colleges Group (EKC) Christmas Gift Appeal

For the fifth year running, Christ the King Sixth Forms (CTK) and East Kent Colleges Group (EKC) are combining forces for yet another Christmas Gift Appeal which launched on 18th November to collect gifts and donations for various charities, including:

  • Demelza Hospice
  • Refuge
  • The Lewisham Foodbank
  • St Vincent De Paul (SVP)

Last year we raised over £20,000 and this year we hope to raise even more so we can make a real difference for families this Christmas. We will also be running an art auction where Art students across combined colleges will donating their best artwork in order to further raise money for charity.

Spearheaded by the dedicated husband-and-wife duo, Shireen Razey OBE (Executive Principal of Christ the King Sixth Forms) and Graham Razey OBE (Chief Executive at EKC Group), the campaign has not only amassed thousands of pounds in financial support but also received countless gifts for those in need. The donations and funds raised will support Demelza Hospice Care for Children, Refuge, Foodbank, and the St Vincent de Paul Society, organisations dedicated to helping individuals facing poverty, hardship, and illness.

Shireen Razey shares her passion for the initiative, saying: “This campaign is about supporting our local community, especially during the Christmas period. We know that many families are still experiencing hardship and anything Christ the King Sixth Forms can do to help is important to our staff, students, parents and stakeholders. It’s heartening to see how local efforts can make a real difference. I am proud that Christ the King Sixth Forms and East Kent Colleges Group continue to work in partnership to bring joy and support to families most in need.”

Graham Razey highlights the collective impact of the community, adding: “We started this campaign during the pandemic, as it felt so important that everyone was able to enjoy some festive celebrations during one of the most challenging times our country and the communities we proudly serve had faced. Whilst we’re out of those tough times, there’s no doubt that things remain difficult for many families with young people and children, so I’m tremendously proud that East Kent Colleges Group and Christ the King Sixth Form College are still able to play a part in bringing some festive cheer to our communities.”

Through generous donations, along with a captivating charity art auction, the Appeal seeks to bring joy to families this holiday season. Students from both college groups have contributed their artwork to the auction, with all proceeds going to the selected charities. Winning bidders will receive their items in time for Christmas, further enriching the festive spirit.
