The Governing Body of St Thomas’ Catholic Primary School seeks to appoint an inspirational headteacher who leads with integrity, creativity, resilience and clarity to join our wonderful team from September 2025. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our stakeholders to build on the high standards achieved to date and to drive school performance forward, ensuring that pupils achieve their very best in their academic, social, physical and spiritual development.
Our Catholic heritage and beliefs are important to us and while we have a diverse range of faiths in our school, it is important to us that our headteacher be an active and committed practicing Catholic – someone with a clear vision and understanding of Catholic education and a commitment to promote the Catholic ethos throughout the school community.
The successful candidate will:
- Continue to build upon our successful relationships with parents, governors, the local parish, the archdiocese, local partnerships and the wider community.
- Ensure that each child is educated according to their needs, with the highest aspiration for every child.
- Demonstrate the impact of their leadership on Teaching, Learning and Assessment at a whole school level.
- Maintain rigorous standards of teaching and learning and raise children’s achievement whilst instilling a sense of worth in each child.
- Be an experienced senior leader who can manage, inspire and further develop our team of teachers and staff.
- Demonstrate excellent people management and communication skills, emotional intelligence and approachability.
- Be fully committed to ensuring safeguarding practices at the school are highly effective.
- Be a good listener and open to the collaboration of pupils, parents, staff and governors.
