St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, Deal marked a significant milestone with the grand opening of its new building on 28th January 2024. The event was attended by students, parents, staff and community members.
Beginning with a Mass led by Archbishop John Wilson in the Church of St John the Evangelist, the celebrations then continued with a blessing and ribbon cutting at the school. The day was followed by refreshments, speeches and the history of the site and school.
The new building, designed with modern educational needs in mind, features state-of-the-art classrooms. The new building also includes a multi-purpose hall that will host school assemblies, performances, and community events. The design emphasises natural light and open spaces, creating an inviting and conducive environment for learning.
During the opening ceremony, the Archbishop expressed his appreciation for the staff and pupils. The headteacher, Maria Pullen thanked the staff, pupils and building team for working together during the build.
