St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School Big Lent Walk

On Monday 17th March 2025 St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Broadstairs took part in the CAFOD Big Lent Walk. The children exceeded 200 kilometres walking and running laps of the school playground.

The local CAFOD Representative John Darby who presented an assembly, had the children enthralled with the super laying Glitter Chickens bred especially to provide food for people living in abject poverty in Kenya.

As a result of the amazing generosity of St Joseph’s parents and school community, including gift aid, a total of £515 was raised for CAFOD which is sufficient to buy 123 hens that will feed thousands of people. The hens will not only provide food but also a small wage for whole villages. The money and food will allow children to attend school and access an education which we know all children richly deserve.

A massive thank you to everyone who supported this very worthy cause.
