Support for Ukraine from St Edmund’s

Over the past couple of weeks, we have been collecting donations for Ukraine. The generosity from our school community has been overwhelming.

We are working together as a school community to help the Ukrainian people. We held a soup and roll day last week raising £384.00 which will be donated to the British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal.

This week has been incredibly humbling for our school, seeing the amazing efforts when we pull together to help others.

We held a ‘Wear Something Blue or Yellow’ Day and a Cake Sale Day to raise further funds. The commitment of our school and families providing donations for the people of Ukraine continues undiminished. A big thank you to Big Jigs Toys for supporting this event and delivering all donated items to the borders.

On Wednesday 16th March pupils and staff at St Edmund’s Catholic school took part in a ‘Day for Ukraine’.

Pupils were asked to wear blue or yellow and to donate £1. Other activities to include a Soup and Roll Day and a Cake Sale have raised a combined total of over £700.00 which is being donated to the British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal in partnership with the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).

This week has been incredibly humbling for our school, seeing all the amazing efforts when we pull together as a community, to help others. A very big thank you to everyone who has donated items for our Ukraine Appeal, we have received an incredible amount of donations!! A big thank you to Bigjigs Toys who are supporting this event and delivering all donated items to the Ukraine borders.

Mr Calver and our Year 11 Prefects boxed up the donations and delivered them to the Folkestone Collection Point at #BigjigsToys . The donations are loaded, and Ukraine bound.

A big THANK YOU to all that have and continue to help with donations and all the volunteers who are making this happen!
